What does "Timoko" mean?
“Timoko” is a contraction of my pets’ names: Tuptim, Tomo, and Coco (“Koko”).
Do you have formal training?
While pursuing my B.S. in Kinesiology at the University of Southern California (c/o '13), I minored in architecture and learned, amongst many topics, interior design, historical preservation, furniture design, and metalwork.
So, then, where did you learn to use power equipment?
My brother and I used to make ramps for skateboarding, in-line skating, and BMX when we were kids. Luckily I never lost a finger, which was enough to convince my parents they’d allow their 8 year-old son to continue to use a circular saw and a power drill.
Your small furnishings for sale are stellar. But do you make custom furniture or take commissions?

While I have experience with on-site furniture projects i.e. built-in libraries, cabinetry, I’m not taking on large-scale projects at this time.
I have a leftover tree trunk in my backyard. Could you make something out of it?
Sure can! I LOVE the idea of a tree getting another chapter in its story. If you live in the LA area and would like a product out of scrap material or wood, please inquire about my commission work. Be sure to read whether certain products are sourced locally. Sometimes, I recover felled trees after seeing them while out running and mill the wood myself to be used in the furniture I make.
How fast can you run a mile?
I don’t know! I’m a marathoner, not a miler. Hopefully fast enough to outrun a bear.
So you like to run far, not fast?
Oh, no, I hate running. But, yes, I definitely can run far enough to outrun a pack of 100 chicken-sized humans, or one human-sized chicken.

Do you make custom or commissioned pieces?
Absolutely! I am limited to the scope of the project, and lead times may greatly vary, but please contact me using my email form on Contact Us, or email me at custom@timokodesign.com and we will get in touch. I look forward to your unique furnishing!
Do you have a showroom or storefront?

How long will shipping take?
If the product is in stock, shipping should take up to 5 business days.
Do you offer products in-store that aren’t listed online?
Yes, because of the variation in many of the furnishings I make, I can’t feasibly list each piece online. Stop by the store, or check out my instagram (and sign up for the email newsletter!) to get a peak at special edition pieces.
